Extracts from the book

Julian and Laura

In a funny turn of events, Julian and Laura’s parents were all classmates in their final year of high school. The four friends eventually married each other and moved into the same street! Unsurprisingly, Julian and Laura grew up as childhood friends who even attended the same primary school. Over time however, they found their own circle of friends and eventually became little more than acquaintances. It was years later when they reconnected at a mutual friend’s wedding, that Julian’s friendship with the “girl-next-door” developed into something more, even though Laura was already based abroad then. They talk about how pre-courtship carried them through the testings of a long distance relationship.

Joel and Theresa

When Joel volunteered to do the dishes on his very first visit to Homes, little did he know that the lovely young woman who came to assist him that night would one day walk down the aisle as his bride. Their friendship struck off over a sponge and a pile of dirty dishes, but as Joel became a regular at Homes, they often found themselves within groups of common friends. Many conversations and hangouts later, Joel finally asked Theresa if she was interested to see their friendship develop into something more.
